Among the sources reflecting the history of Amir Temur, the diary of Rui Gonzales de Clavijo, the ambassador of the King of Castile, “Travel to Samarkand, to the palace of Temur” occupies a special place. The book contains valuable historical information about the reign of Amir Temur. In addition, it also mentions a number of gifts sent to Sahibqiran Amir Temur by the rulers of neighboring countries.

When the ambassadors arrived in Babylon, they saw gifts on fifteen camels, six ostriches and one giraffe, which were being sent as gifts by the Babylonian sultan to Amir Temur. When the Spanish ambassadors were at the reception of Khalil Sultan Mirzo, he told the ambassadors that he wanted to take for himself one of the falcons that was being carried as a gift to Sahibqiran, thenKhalil Sultan said that his grandfather would not be offended by this. Amir Temur received the ambassadors in the autumn of 1404, the presents of the King of Castile and the Sultan of Babylon were shown, and after their turn, about three hundred horses were performed that day.

In another place, Temurbek ordered to call the ambassadors of the countries around China, these ambassadors were dressed in woolen tunics and had small caps on their heads. It is reported that they brought precious animal skins as a gift to the host.
